The examination will normally be held on Saturday & Sunday in the last week of June and December. The examination centre will be Chennai, however if the number of candidates are more that 30 from one area, the near by city will be the examination centre (For example Bangalore, Cochin, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Madurai and Pondicherry).

Besides the direct examination, for the sake of student who could not able to attend the examination due to busy work and other unavoidable circumstances, the institute also offers postal examination in which the question paper will be sent by the registered post to the residential address of the candidate and he is expected to write the answers honestly with out copying it from the book and should return the answer papers within five days of time. In such cases, the Institute has the duty to inform the mode of examination in the Diploma Certificate also. The candidate has to mention in the application itself about the mode of examination he / she prefers.

Examination plan

There will be four papers of two hours duration of each. The maximum mark will be 100 and the minimum passing mark will be 35 in each paper.

The question paper will be in subjective pattern and will have some small and big questions. Time table, model question paper and place of examination will be informed to the students at least 20 days before the date of examination. Students are advised to bring the call letters and the Identity Card issued by the institute while coming to the examination. Students are advised to make their own arrangements for the boarding and lodging at the time of examination.

Candidates who fails or unable to attend the examination (for any reason) in any of the papers are apply for the subsequent examination by paying Rs.50 per paper. Separate application forms will be sent to those candidates in such circumstances. The candidate has to clear all the papers with in two years from the date of joining in the institute.

4. Two stamp size photographs (One has to be affixed on the application and the other has to be sent with the application cover).
5. SSLC mark sheet copy
6. Two self addressed envelopes
7. Two specimen signatures 8. Certificate from the employer (if the candidate is working in any detective or security agency).

If any of the above items is missing the application is liable to be rejected.
